Vintage Japanese Powder Blue Silk Damask Spiral Waves Embroidered Flowers Kimono
This vintage Japanese powder blue silk damask spiral waves embroidered flowers kimono dates from the Showa Period 1960s. It is hand stitched and made of a pale powder blue silk damask weave fabric with a woven spiral ocean waves pattern design with pastel silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered flowers outlined in gold thread couching work. This beautiful blue Japanese geisha style traditional kimono is fully lined a white and lavender purple ombre fabric along the bottom and has an open front with no closure. The kimono measures 63 inches long, with a 50 inch chest, 50 inch waist and 19 inch long kimono sleeves. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned with a few faint yellow spot small stains on the back (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Japanese kimono wearable art!
