    Description

    1878 Patented Cast iron Clamp On Ice skates
    Very unusual, only pair I have ever had, and I have had hundreds of pairs of vintage skates.
    They have screw adjustments for front and rear clamps. They have a c( cast into the side , and other side Patnet  Feb 19  78
    Dimensions:  9 1/2" from front of skate blade to back of skate blade.
    1 3/4" from bottom of blade to top of clamp in front, 2 1/8" in the back to top of clamp top.
    Front flat area where shoe would rest is 2" wide.
    No cracks or chips, these would be difficult to find without broken clamps, as if they were thrown around or dropped at all, being cast iron, they would have broken.  That is why you rarely will see a pair of these, I don't think they made very many of them.
    Metal has some light rust which would clean up with some steel wool.
