One Naturally Holey Beach Stone, Coquinoid Sandstone, Long Tube-Shaped
Surf-tumbled by the tides and time.
Collected by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
This tube shaped stone is 2 7/8 inches long,
just under one inch wide,
and 7/8 inch tall.
The hole is just over 1/8” diameter at its minimal point in the middle of the tube.
As you can see this tube shaped rock has a few holes and many almost holes/dents.
The tube is relatively straight. The edges are all smooth and rounded.
Nature is awesome... why/how/how old is it..... how was it created?......
It would make a great gift! Super fun to look through!

My opinion here....I think these tube shaped hag stones are more special
than the average hag stone.
Think about it..... a hole that is relatively straight and over two inches long.
Hag stones have occupied myth and magic folklore for centuries.

naturally occurring hole inside them. These stones are often
found along the coastal points, beaches, and streams. These
holes occur from the elements
beating down upon them over
many years.  There are also speculations that these mysterious
stones may have been formed by a “worm hole”. A Hag stone
is also known as a Witch Stone
or Adder Stone or Holey Stone
and has quite a bit of lore and many magical properties associated
with them.  Part of the folklore is that if you look through the holes
you can see fairies.
