One Naturally Holey Tube-shaped Beach Stone, Coquinoid Sandstone
Tumbled by the tides and time.
Collected by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
This tube shaped stone is 2 1/8 inches long,
two inches tall,
and just under one inch thick.
The hole is minimum 5/16" diameter and easily accommodates the wooden dowel.
All sizes are approximate.
The hole is long and relatively straight.
I like the handle for an easy look-through.
Also, you may have noticed a hole that traverses the top of the handle.
Maybe a great way to add a cord to this stone.
Nature is cool.

Hag stones have occupied myth and magic folklore for centuries.

Hag stones are stones that have a
naturally occurring hole inside them. These stones are often
found along the coastal points, beaches, and streams. These
holes occur from the elements
beating down upon them over
many years.  There are also speculations that these mysterious
stones may have been formed by a “worm hole”. A Hag stone is
also known as a Witch Stone
or Adder Stone or Holey Stone and
has quite a bit of lore and many magical properties associated
with them.  Part of the folklore is that if you look through the holes
you can see fairies.
