DESCRIPTION
A Shida ware porcelain plate with a design of a bamboo tiger, late Edo period.
Pretty well painted.
The painting is skillfully done, reminiscent of the Kano school.
Taketora-zu (Bamboo and Tiger) that will make many antique fans groan.
This famous subject was painted by many artists, including Korin Ogata and Sesson.
This beautiful Shida ware is made of very hard Amakusa stone, which is very well tempered and has a beautiful dark blue color.
It is a gem that you must own in every way.
Shida ware is a famous kiln near Imari and Karatsu in Arita.
Shida ware is made at two kilns in the Hizen province of Nabeshima: Higashiyama in the domain of the main domain, and Nishiyama in the domain of the branch domain Hasuchi, the so-called Arita Oosotoyama.
