ANTIQUE JAPANESE HAND WOVEN INDIGO CLOTH Textile Fabric Boro 62 x 62" (158 cm2)

Description

A futon cover we picked up in Kyoto. It's from the late 1800's - early 1900's This was when the indigo color was made from plant indigo. (Before chemical indigo was invented.) The irregular cotton weave shows this was hand woven. There is some obvious damage so this would need to be re-enforced if used as a complete piece.
